Time for a new wind through the Flemmish jazz scene, enter Yskan.
The combination of Anneleen Boehme (LABtrio), Simon Raman (Steiger) and Geert Hendrickx (Zandland) might sound familiar. Add Sam Comerford (Thunderblender) to the mix and something special awaits the listener.
With Yskan, Geert goes in a new direction after GIZMO, with whom he collaborated with Chris Cheek and Ben Sluijs.
The music of Yskan can be described as a structure of building block with which the band plays around freely. The compositions contain a strong, often filmic character and portray a beautiful clash between contrasting atmospheres.
In 2021 they released their debut album in coproduction with Motives for Jazz with a positive critical acclaim.
